Ben Healy finished 10th at the Montreal Worlds. He attacked from 74km out and rode himself out of medal contention, but the shape of the race said more about his form than the result did.
Healy hadn't cracked a top-10 since March, missing the Spring Classics to injury before this season. He admitted afterwards he had more in his legs than he expected: «I think I had better legs than I even thought myself today. So, maybe I should have waited, but I left it all out on the road.» That's not the language of a rider clawing for a result — it's one recalibrating what he's capable of.
