Netcompany Ineos joins AiRO, a tool already on sale

AiRO confirmed it will work with Netcompany Ineos on aero testing in 2027. It is the brand's first official partnership with a team. The tool costs about $200 a session through specialist bike fitters, and AiRO already claims other WorldTour teams as paying customers. Netcompany Ineos adds a name to a product that was already on sale.
What this means
A fuller announcement of the partnership is expected the following week, and details were still being worked out.
AiRO launched its Vayu CFD simulation tool in October 2026, and the company was founded about 14 months before the report. The app builds a "digital twin" of each rider from photographs and runs experiments such as swapping helmets or adjusting position. Ingmar Jungnickel expects Netcompany Ineos to use it alongside real wind tunnel testing, to cover the full squad rather than just top riders, without the time and cost of wind tunnel work. Some features are still in construction: testing 20+ scanned helmets on one rider, which would recreate over 400 wind tunnel tests, is not yet available, Jungnickel caveated. A separate feature ranks over 100 small position changes by available improvement, with the bike fitter then checking what is achievable in the real world. One source describes the helmet and position testing as current rather than future, and the sources conflict on that.
