No new ENVE race bike cuts tire clearance. The Melee stays at 35mm max, optimized for 27–32mm — and the real story is ENVE's wheels going narrower while the rest of the road bike world goes wider.
The Foundation AR40, ENVE's newest all-road wheelset, is aero-optimized for 700x27mm tires. That's a tighter window than most 2026 road bikes, which are shifting toward 31–35mm+ setups for comfort and rolling resistance. The Fray, ENVE's own endurance model, clears 40mm — so the brand is stretching in two directions at once, not narrowing across the board.
