The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo is staging the Tour de France 2027 riders' presentation at Edinburgh Castle Esplanade — this is not a team parade, it's a spectacle with massed pipes, drums, and the cultures of three nations built into the programme.
Organizers handed the June 30 ceremony to the Tattoo rather than running a conventional riders' introduction, a signal that the Grand Départ is being treated as cultural event first, race logistics second. The backdrop is Edinburgh Castle; the bill includes a Highland welcome with massed pipes and drums representing Scotland, Wales, and England — the three nations the peloton will cross in a single start, the first time that's happened in Tour history. Both the men's Tour de France 2027 and Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift 2027 are also departing outside France for the first time simultaneously, which gives the ceremony an additional weight that a standard riders' presentation simply wouldn't carry.
