Bastien Tronchon won Vuelta a España 2026 stage 10 — his first WorldTour victory — after Visma–Lease a Bike committed the finale to Wout van Aert's sprint and watched him finish fourth. A climber built for a punchy finish beat the sprinters at their own game.
Before Tuesday, Tronchon's best result was a Tro-Bro-Léon win in 2025 — nowhere near WorldTour level. Visma–Lease a Bike had a choice in Matthew Brennan and picked Van Aert instead, a bet that left their sprint without an answer to the late attacks. Magnus Cort and Thibau Nys rounded out the podium, while Enric Mas kept the red jersey untouched.
