Berckmoes took his first WorldTour win the hard way: 30 kilometers solo off the Muur de Grammont, holding off a peloton that included Jasper Philipsen and Olav Kooij. The race lead came with it.
The Lotto-Intermarché rider broke clear with Alec Segaert roughly 30 km from the finish, then made his decisive move just after the red flag — alone from there to the line on stage 3 of the Renewi Tour 2026. Beating Philipsen and Kooij in a field that came with sprint credentials makes the margin of the win count for more than the result alone. At 25, Berckmoes picks up the leader's jersey heading into the final two stages.
