Le Court-Pienaar won the Tour of Britain Women by controlling the last day, not attacking it — a 29-second GC cushion meant stage 5 was Wiebes' to take, and that was fine. One climb at Great Orme decided this race; everything after was damage limitation for everyone else.
Wiebes won four of five stages — 1, 2, 4, and 5 — and still finished off the podium overall, which captures the strategic reality of this race precisely. Le Court-Pienaar's attack at 2.6km from the Great Orme summit on stage 3 shifted the race's centre of gravity entirely: from that point, Wiebes was chasing time she could not recover in any finish that stayed flat long enough for a sprint. Lara Gillespie took second overall, Chiara Consonni third — the GC was resolved in the hills, then frozen in Leamington Spa.
