Stage 4 of the Tour of Britain Women wasn't a sprinter's gift — 2,400 metres of climbing through central Wales — and Wiebes won it anyway by closing down attacks and sprinting from a reduced group. The distinction that matters: attritional, multi-climb terrain is not the same problem as a summit finish.
Great Orme (stage 3) put Wiebes 37 seconds down because the road kept pointing up to the line. Llanidloes to Hay-on-Wye punished her differently — repeated climbs that shredded the field — and she survived both the attrition and the late accelerations to take the win. That's a narrower skill set than pure climbing, but it's a real one: hilly races with flat finishes may be far less of a ceiling for her than summit finishes suggest.
