Specialized founder Mike Sinyard returns as CEO
Suvi Loponen
Mike Sinyard is back as CEO of Specialized on November 1, replacing Armin Landgraf. Two outside hires in four years couldn't hold the job, and the founder is the one who had to step back in.
Scott Maguire, a former Dyson executive, ran Specialized from 2022 to 2024 before moving to lead innovation and later leaving for ON Holding. Landgraf, who'd previously led Canyon and Pon.Bike, lasted from 2024 until now — Sinyard, in a note to retail partners, called it a "personal decision" on Landgraf's part. Two hires with real credentials, two exits inside four years — after 48 years in charge himself, Sinyard is the one still standing.
