Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe's own sports director just conceded the climbs to Enric Mas. Patxi Vila told L'Équipe that Primož Roglič is "feeling good" but Mas is "a bit better than him on the climbs," and that they "have to accept" he's proving very hard to match — language that reads less like a rallying cry and more like a team quietly managing a retreat into the final week.
Roglič lost another 25 seconds on Stage 14 Sierra de la Pandera and dropped to third overall, with Mas's lead now out to 2:10 — the biggest gap yet. Vila's admission that "the idea was not to lose time, but we did" isn't a team plotting a comeback attack; it's a team accepting the terrain doesn't favor them and waiting for stages that do. That's a different conversation than the one Red Bull was having a week ago about a fifth title.
