Erola Jons was hired specifically to create content for the Vuelta a España 2026 and granted access to areas professional journalists cannot enter. After Pogačar won the Monaco time trial opener and took the red jersey, Jons approached him with remarks that left him visibly confused and uncomfortable. Eurosport presenter Laura Meseguer put the stakes plainly: «No one should have to put up with being treated like an object, nor women nor men»—adding that women in cycling have spent years fighting for credibility in the sport.
