Carera announces a Greek-Italian team with no name or sponsors

Alex Carera told RadioCorsa on RaiSport that he plans a new team based in Greece with Italian management, Marco Bellini and Kevin Colleoni. The team has no name, sponsors, roster or licence category, and Carera's own role was not disclosed. Carera is the agent of Tadej Pogačar, which makes the announcement larger than the project so far.
What this means
Nothing on the road has changed yet: the team's name, roster and licence category are still to be clarified.
Carera said Bellini and Colleoni will be at the helm of a project that will be talked about in the cycling world for a long time. Bellini worked for many years with Gianni Savio and more recently led the Mexican-based Petrolike team. Colleoni announced his retirement on 11 February 2026 after five WorldTour seasons with BikeExchange-Jayco and Intermarché-Wanty. Carera said the Greeks chose Italy because, despite criticism of Italian cycling, Italian management and staff are at the forefront. The hypothesised start is at Continental level, possibly with a first season in 2027, though Carera specified no timing.
