Hagenes wins Paris-Tours; Visma-Lease a Bike takes 1-3
Per Strand Hagenes (Visma-Lease a Bike) won the 120th Paris-Tours with a solo jump just before the flamme rouge, holding off a charging reduced group. Jasper Stuyven (Soudal-QuickStep) was second and Christophe Laporte took third, a 1-3 for Visma-Lease a Bike. After 216 km, one late move settled it.
What this means
Hagenes succeeds Matteo Trentin (Tudor Pro Cycling Team) on the Paris-Tours palmarès.
A 12-rider break was away for much of the day, and a group of five established itself over the gravel sectors before being reeled in with 21 km to go. Multiple attacks followed in the final 20 km, and 11 riders came into a cagey final 3 km. The catalyst was an acceleration by Toms Skujiņš (Lidl-Trek); Hagenes countered off his wheel just before the flamme rouge. Eurosport France credits Laporte with helping him. It is Hagenes' fifth professional win and his second of 2026, at age 23.
