Vuelta: Küng wins the stage 18 time trial as Roglič moves into second overall

Roglič led the stage 18 time trial at both intermediate checkpoints. Mas found time in the final section anyway, capping the damage at 33 seconds instead of the collapse Roglič needed on flat terrain built for him.
Roglič now sits 1:37 behind overall — better than his pre-stage deficit, but nowhere near the striking distance a 32.1km flat TT was supposed to hand him. Mas's own account matches the numbers: he split the course into three sections and executed exactly the plan he needed. Two mountain stages remain, but Roglič just used his best terrain and gained less than 40 seconds.
