Claimed SPD-SLR stack height12.5mm (unverified)

Trademark filings and a retailer leak point to SPD-SLR, a new format that isn't just a rebrand — prototypes were photographed on a pro bike at Paris-Roubaix 2026. The 12.5mm stack figure circulating online has no confirmed source and should be read as a rumor, not a spec. Worth remembering: Shimano's current PD-R9100 lists 14.6mm total stack, but roughly 5mm of that is the SPD-SL cleat itself — strip that out and the pedal is closer to 9.3mm, shorter than the headline number suggests. If SPD-SLR changes the cleat, the real comparison won't be the number on the box.
