The Shimano Dura-Ace R9300 groupset has not been spotted at La Vuelta a España or anywhere else — every Shimano-sponsored WorldTour team rolled through the 2026 Tour de France on R9200 Di2. What Shimano has done is flood the periphery: carbon-spoke WH-R9370 wheels in July, prototype SPD-SLR pedals in retailer listings, a 13th gear position quietly added to the Shimano E-Tube Project app in February — everything except a derailleur.
The WH-R9370 is the first product Shimano has officially released under the R9300 naming convention, and its launch is the clearest signal yet that the full drivetrain is close. The architecture underneath is already known from a May 2024 patent: fully wireless 2×13-speed, with batteries housed inside the derailleurs — no wired connection between front and rear. With the R9200 Di2 approaching five years since its August 2021 launch, Shimano is running at the edge of its own development cycle. The question isn't whether R9300 is coming — it's why the core components are the last thing Shimano will show.
