TotalEnergies has issued no statement before October 15

TotalEnergies riders before the start of the 2026 Sparkassen Münsterland Giro, one of the last races of the season
Cyclingnews
More than a third of TotalEnergies' 28 riders have signed elsewhere for 2027 or announced their retirement, according to RMC Sport. Jordan Jegat, tenth overall at the Tour de France in 2025 and 2026, is going to Lidl-Trek, and Geoffrey Bouchard is ending his career at the team. No statement is planned before Thursday's October 15 registration deadline.
What this means
Two major French teams, B&B Hotels-KTM and Arkéa-B&B Hotels, have already quit the pro scene since 2022.
RMC Sport counts 8 riders signed elsewhere and 3 retirements. Anthony Turgis and Nicolas Breuillard are at XDS Astana Team, Émilien Jeannière and Alexandre Delettre at Groupama-FDJ United, Mattéo Vercher and Thomas Bonnet at Burgos Burpellet BH, Pierre Thierry at Cofidis. Fabien Grellier and Lorenzo Manzin have also announced their retirement. The UCI file due October 15 needs a budget and bank guarantee that cover all the riders the ProTeam intends to sign. After the deadline a team can still register for 2027, but only by paying a daily financial penalty and proving that a percentage of its riders are under contract for the following season. Stéphane Heulot and Jean-René Bernaudeau have said in recent months that they remain confident and are working on finding a sponsor. The Vendée U route is a rumour.
