Vos wins Gravel Worlds as Klöser crashes 4km out

The long course for the elite men's race at the UCI Gravel World Championships on October 11

Marianne Vos won the elite women's race at the 2026 UCI Gravel World Championships in Nannup, soloing over the final climb for her second gravel world title. Rosa Klöser finished second, 27 seconds back, after crashing on the final descent with about 4km to go. Vos was blunt about it afterwards: «I was sad that she crashed because that's not a nice way to beat the competition, but unfortunately that happened».
What this means
Vos holds two gravel world titles, the other won in 2024 in Leuven. Klöser's two September Series wins did not carry over to the world title, and she left Nannup with silver.
Klöser had won two UCI Gravel World Series races in September, including Sea Otter Europe, where she shook off Vos. In Nannup she had a flat tyre about 20km in, then went down in the last technical corner. Vos said she knew she had a chance once she could follow, and that the last downhill was tricky. The gap at the line was 27 seconds. Vos described her year as hard, and she lost her father earlier in 2026. The win took her to 15 elite world titles across disciplines. Larissa Hartog took bronze, 2:15 behind Vos.
