Breuillard wins Langkawi queen stage, Jasch holds GC lead

Nicolas Breuillard won stage 5 of Le Tour de Langkawi 2026, the queen stage from Tapah to Genting Highlands, in 3:11:26. He and Josh Burnett (Burgos Burpellet BH) were the last two riders left from an early breakaway, with Burnett finishing second 8 seconds back. Lennart Jasch (Tudor Pro Cycling Team) came in third, 21 seconds down, and kept the overall race lead thanks in part to the time bonus. Jasch now leads Abel Balderstone (Caja Rural-Seguros RGA) by 26 seconds and Jan Castellon (Caja Rural-Seguros RGA) by 42 seconds in the general classification.
What this means
Jasch's third place on the queen stage, aided by the time bonus, widened his general classification lead over Abel Balderstone to 26 seconds and over Jan Castellon to 42 seconds.
The 125.7 km stage finished atop the 20.6 km Hors Catégorie climb to Genting Highlands, averaging 7.5%. The stage winner's average speed was 39.398 km/h. Breuillard had been ill early in the race and said afterward, «I came here for the GC and I fell sick in the start of the day in Malaysia, after this I wanted to win a stage, and I'm very happy with that.» It was his first professional victory, and Valentin Retailleau (TotalEnergies) helped pace-set in the breakaway to set it up. Jasch, who said «The race isn't over yet but we are a big big step closer to the finish line in terms of the GC I would say», also extended his lead in the King of the Mountains classification, with 35 points ahead of Petr Rikunov (29) and Breuillard (25).
