Hunt's gravel wheels go asymmetric: 45mm front, 38mm rear

Hunt's new 5AM Gravel Limitless wheels run a 45 mm external width up front and 38 mm at the rear, a 54 mm deep front rim paired with a 49 mm deep rear. The asymmetry isn't a weight-saving shortcut — Hunt frames it as an aero fix, arguing a wider rim smooths the transition into a high-volume tire and cuts drag. That puts Hunt in a lane already occupied by Enve, Zipp, Roval and Light Bicycle, whose own ultra-wide gravel wheels have pushed external widths toward the same range.
Both rims share a 27 mm internal width and are optimized for a 45–50 mm tire range, though they'll take anything from 40–60 mm. The steel-spoke build weighs 1,447 g a pair; the carbon-spoke Ti_UD version drops to 1,317 g, with ceramic bearing upgrades available on that build. Hunt isn't alone at this width — Enve's G SES 6.7 Pro and Light Bicycle's AG48 already sit at a comparable 48 mm external width — but the front/rear split is the distinguishing call here. Pricing runs from US$2,400 for the steel-spoke version to US$2,900 for Ti_UD, with a lifetime crash replacement policy included.
