Jasch wins Le Tour de Langkawi overall, Malucelli takes stage 8

Lennart Jasch won Le Tour de Langkawi 2026 overall, finishing 26 seconds ahead of Abel Balderstone. Matteo Malucelli won stage 8, from Muar to Putrajaya, his third stage win of this edition, with Riley Pickrell (Modern Adventure) second. Jasch, 25, is a former speed skater turned cyclist.
What this means
Jasch's win follows his first professional victory at the Tour of the Alps 2026, where he won stage 4, and his GC win at the Giro della Regione Friuli Venezia Giulia 2025.
Jasch took the overall lead on stage 2 at Gunung Jerai, where he finished ahead of Abel Balderstone (Caja Rural – Seguros RGA) by 16 seconds and Jan Castellon (Caja Rural – Seguros RGA) by 32 seconds. He held that lead through to Putrajaya, finishing 26 seconds clear of Balderstone overall, with Castellon third, 42 seconds back. «The team put so much trust into me and we came here with this vision of testing me as a GC rider and I think I can say now that I've shown that I'm that I can be a GC rider.» — Lennart Jasch, in the post-race media conference at Putrajaya. Malucelli also won stages 1 and 3 of this edition before taking stage 8. «It's really hot and the team did an amazing job, we controlled the race also with Modern Adventure. I tried to save a lot of energy the last two days and I won the last stage.» — Matteo Malucelli, after the stage 8 finish.
