Mischa Bredewold crashed out of the Faun Tour Femmes with a pelvic fracture, ending her season days before the 2026 UCI Road World Championships. She'd built the best form of her career for this exact moment. «Luckily my good shape will come in handy with sitting on the couch,» she wrote.
The crash came a little over 10km from the finish on stage one of the Faun Tour Femmes, on a season that already included the overall win at Itzulia Women 2026 and a stage at La Vuelta Femenina 2026. It cost her more than Montréal: Bredewold had also been building toward the Track World Championships in China, so one fracture erased two world title shots in the same window. The line about the couch is the whole response — no comeback framing, no injury update, just the joke landing exactly where the form was supposed to.
