Solène Muller won Stage 1 of the Faun Tour Femmes 2026 off a late attack that split the group to five, then beat Nienke Vinke in the sprint at Boffres. Five WorldTour teams had riders in that move and none of them closed the gap. The opening in women's cycling isn't a talent gap anymore — it's an execution gap, and a Pro Tour rider just proved she could read it faster than they could.
Muller turned pro with St Michel-Preference Home-Auber 93 barely two months before this race, signing her stagiaire deal in August 2025 and a full contract weeks later. She arrived at Stage 1 with zero UCI wins and a 540th-place world ranking. None of that mattered in the final kilometres: she attacked, forced the split, and out-sprinted riders from squads with vastly deeper resources. WorldTour depth was on the road that day — it just wasn't enough.
